Crockett, Travis Accept Donations From Exxon Mobil

Both schools received a donation of $500 from Exxon Mobil to assist in learning opportunities at their respective campuses.

Angela Fitzpatrick, principal of Crockett Elementary, and Loyed Jones, principal of Travis Elementary, were on hand to accept the donation checks from Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance Program representatives Margaret Fancher and Ron Walsh. Also attending the donation ceremony were MISD Superintendent Dr. Jerry Gibson and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Anika Perkins.

Exxon Mobil has a long history of supporting educational programs, like Educational Alliance, that focus on improvements in math and science from pre-school to higher education. Since the program’s inception, Exxon Mobil has committed over $34 million to the national program. This year alone, the program has supported over 4,000 school nationwide with donations of $500 per school to support science, technology, engineering and math education.
