Hill returns home as Mavette director (7/13/16)
The Marshall Mavettes became a part of the Maverick Family in 1969 thanks to the hard work and vision of Mrs. Charlsie Cooke, the first director of the MHS drill team. Since then, the Mavettes have become one of the most respected drill teams in the nation, winning state and national awards at competitions all over the country.

Most recently, the Mavettes earned a Super Sweepstakes designation at the M.A. Rose Regional Competition in Tyler in February of 2016. The Mavettes earned the highest ranking possible for all four dances at the competition, including winning High Point Awards for Team Contemporary, Hip Hop and Novelty.

The 2015-2016 Mavettes also walked away with Best In Class honors for their Team Contemporary Dance, among other awards.

The Mavettes provide pre-game entertainment at Maverick football games, and also are a halftime highlight in the fall. They also perform at MHS pep rallies, basketball games and other school and community events, including the annual Mavette Show each spring.

The Marshall Mavettes are truly a source of Maverick and Marshall Pride! For information on Mavette events and activities, contact Mrs. Heather Hill, Mavette Director, at 903-927-8800.
